Phase Three : Seeking Funding

The City of Meriden is seeking federal funds to design and construct Phase III for Meriden's Linear Trail system  This project will complete approximately 1.5 miles of paved trail from Coe Ave to Columbus Park.  The trail will connect the recently completed 1.3 mile Quinnipiac River Gorge section to an existing City park.  A Phase III trail will provide pedestrian and bicycle access to three public schools; Platt High School,  Lincoln Middle School, and Benjamin Franklin Elementary School.  The Meriden Linear Trail system is a part of a regional trail system that follows the Quinnipiac River and its tributaries through Wallingford and Cheshire.  Past funding for these projects provided by grants from the US Department of Transportation and local funds.
