National Trails Day - CT Greenway -June 2, 2012

Celebrating National Trails Day In Meriden
The Connecticut Greenways Council has accepted the nomination of
Quinnipiac River Gorge Trail as a designated Greenway. The MLTAC will celebrate the occasion on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the trails entrance.
In the United States, National Trails Day® (NTD) is the American Hiking Society's trail awareness program. Each year events are held to help promote awareness of the wide variety of benefits that trails provide, to encourage people to discover their local trails, to raise awareness of trail issues, and to instill excitement for the outdoors. National Trails Day is held every year on the first Saturday in June
Meriden will celebrat National Trails Day on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at the Quinnipiac River Linear Walking Trail (Red Bridge), Lion's Club Park in Meriden. Meriden’s National Trail Partners showcased educational exhibits and were on hand to answer questions on Meriden’s natural resources, environmental issues and trail expansion. .
The event sponsored by Meriden’s National Trail Partners, which include the Meriden Conservation Commission, Meriden Land Trust, Quinnipiac River Watershed Association, Meriden Health Department, and the Meriden Linear Trails Committee.
